Maternity sessions range from bright, minimalist natural-light portraits to classic studio photography with carefully shaped light. Newborn photography follows a lifestyle approach centered around the baby and family. Studio Natural newborn sessions use natural light and a relaxed, baby-led approach, allowing time for feeding, soothing, cuddling, sleeping and waking. In-home newborn sessions take place in the comfort of the family's own home, using natural light and the routines already unfolding during the baby's first days. Studio Classic newborn sessions are more portrait-led, with more direction, carefully shaped studio light and a timeless, dramatic finish. Fresh 48 sessions take place during the baby's first days in hospital and follow a natural, documentary approach to the first feeds, family interactions and small details of those first hours. Parents and siblings are an important part of newborn sessions, with an emphasis on the relationship forming between the baby and family. ## About Barbara Crepaldi Barbara Crepaldi is a Brazilian photographer based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She has worked professionally as a photographer since 2008, and maternity photography has been part of her work for more than 13 years. Her work has developed around motherhood and family, with maternity, newborn and breastfeeding photography becoming central areas of her practice. Barbara first learned photography on 35mm film while at university, using a Pentax K1000, developing her own rolls and making prints in the darkroom before later moving professionally into digital photography. Film remains part of her work today.
