Your baby, just as they are

We call our approach Newborn Lifestyle: a natural and minimalist and baby-led way of photographing your baby without elaborate props, costumes or rigid poses. Styling is kept simple and meaningful — perhaps a soft swaddle, or their little bear beside them — so the focus always stays on your baby. Asleep or awake, stretching, feeding, being soothed, or giving us a tiny yawn, every little moment is part of who they are — and often becomes one of the most special photographs in the gallery. If they need to feed, be held, calm down or take a break, we simply follow their rhythm. Whatever happens is welcome, because it all belongs to this moment.

Parents are an essential part of the session. We are not only photographing what your baby looks like, but this very new relationship taking shape — the way you are still learning them, the way they settle into your arms, and just how small they look against you. These are the details that make this stage feel so special — a stage you only get to experience once.

OUR LITTLE WORLD

There is something about the first days with a new baby that is difficult to put into words. The hormones, the tiredness, the intensity of learning someone completely new, and the feeling that life outside has almost paused for a little while.

I see it during the sessions all the time. Mothers get emotional, fathers do too, and very often I do as well. There is a vulnerability to this stage, but also a closeness that exists in such a particular way only at the beginning.

My relationship with newborn photography actually started with my son, Tom. Until then, I associated newborn sessions with the more traditional style — elaborate props, posed setups and a very different aesthetic from what I naturally connected with. Because of that, I had always said no to newborn sessions.

When Tom was born, I simply photographed him the way I wanted to remember him: as he was, in our arms, in our home, with all the little details and moments that made those days ours. I didn’t know at the time that what I was drawn to had a name, or that it would become such an important part of my work.

He opened that door for me. Since then, photographing newborns has become one of the parts of my work that moves me the most, probably because I know how intense, fragile and beautiful that little world can feel while you are inside it.

And even if you live it again with another baby, it will never be quite the same. A different child, a different version of you, a different family.
