Breastfeeding doesn’t have and shouldn't hurt!

Today we will discover how osteopathy can ease latch issues, reflux, and fussiness.

A Gentle Solution

“Breastfeeding is natural, but that doesn’t mean it’s always easy. Many moms experience painful latch, low milk supply, reflux, or fussiness, leaving them frustrated and exhausted. But did you know that tension in your baby’s body — caused by his position during pregnancy or birth, or the way baby was born — can be the root cause?

Osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on approach that helps release restrictions in your baby’s neck, jaw, and body, improving their ability to latch, suck, and feed comfortably.

How osteopathy supports breastfeeding:

✔ Relieves neck & jaw tension affecting latch

✔ Helps with head-turning preferences

✔ Improves tongue mobility & feeding coordination

✔ Reduces reflux, colic & gassiness

✔ Supports better weight gain & longer, more effective feeds

Many feeding issues are mistakenly blamed on tongue ties, but sometimes the real issue is tight muscles and alterations in the fascia (that continuous tissue that surrounds muscles, organs, and other structures in our body). In many cases, osteopathy alone can resolve feeding challenges — without the need for a procedure. If a tongue tie is really present and requires release, osteopathy helps by preparing the body before the procedure and aiding recovery afterward.

When to seek osteopathic support:

🤱🏻 Painful latch or sore nipples

🤱🏻 Baby struggles to stay latched

🤱🏻 Reflux, colic, or excessive gassiness

🤱🏻 Baby seems tense, fussy, or arches during feeds

🤱🏻 Poor weight gain despite frequent nursing

If breastfeeding has been painful or frustrating, you’re not alone. Osteopathy is a gentle, non-invasive way to help your baby feed more effectively, making the experience easier and more enjoyable for both of you. Seek professional help if needed to improve comfort for both of you.”
